October 31, 2008- Updated Domain Phishing Alert. We've recently become aware of a phishing scam targeting domain name customers of a number of registrars, including Network Solutions. While you may not have domain names at any of these registrars, you may still be receiving these emails and coming to you with questions. We wanted to alert you to this situation.

At this time, we know that fraudulent e-mails are being sent to some domain registrants, regardless who the registrar of record is, which include links to sites that look like networksolutons.com or other registrars; however they are fake web sites. These e-mails are attempting to capture login information. We should caution you that a small number of registrars are currently affected, it could expand to others.

How to Protect Yourself: Legitimate requests will ask you to simply review your information. Phishing scams will provide a link within the email asking you to click on the link to update your information. DO NOT CLICK ON THE LINK. Any concerns may be directed to the SolidSpace Support Team.

October 30, 2008 - 101Domain.com/RightWay Gate, Inc. - Phishing Alert.

Notice: We recently became aware of the below fraudulent email circulating to customers requesting that customers log into their accounts to correct inaccurate WHOIS information.

The email is FROM: eNomCentral Inc. with subject line :"Your domain must be deleted today!"
Do not provide any information on the link provided in that email.

That email is not legitimate, and we believe it is an attempt to compromise your accounts and/or domain names. There has also been another phishing scam using the email: info@worldswidedomainname.com. Be sure to check your emails carefully, and always log in to your Domain Admin panel directly, never through an email solicitation.

October 28, 2008 - Clients utilizing the SolidSpace domain registration service will begin receiving notifications from Network Solutions requesting a review of registered domains listed in the WHOIS database. This request will be sent to the registrar's email address with a subject line: Action Required: Important Account Information.

This is a legitimate request and required by ICANN, the non-profit who oversees the domain registration systems. This is in cooperation with a policy established by ICANN that requires all registrars contact each customer and request them to verify the accuracy of their WHOIS information. (WHOIS is a publicly accessed database containing contact information associated with every domain name registration.) If you have questions regarding this request, please do not hesitate to contact the SolidSpace support team.

Jan 30, 2006 - SolidSpace is excited to announce a new email policy that will better handle SPAM. Please read the very important information below regarding this new email feature.

Why are you changing your email policy?
Historically, SolidSpace has simply bounced emails that were rejected due to your email SPAM rules. Bouncing is generating a reply back to the sender stating that the email was unable to be delivered. Unfortunately the bounce function is sometimes being exploited by spammers. To avoid this exploitation and/or valid emails being deleted, we will now direct SPAM emails into a SPAM Folder for each user rather than bouncing messages.

What do I need to do?
At approximately 3 P.M. EST. each day, you will receive an email in your inbox which contains a list of emails by subject and sender that are contained in your SPAM Folder. If you do not wish to retrieve any of these messages, you do not need to take any action. Emails in the SPAM Folder will be deleted automatically after 15 days. In order to prevent your email box from going over quota due to this policy change, your user email box quota will be increased.

What if I receive a valid email and it automatically goes into my SPAM inbox?
If you wish to "white list" or prevent an email address from being intercepted as SPAM, you may add the address to your web mail address book. Please follow this link: http://www.solidspace.com/SMB/Support/SMB_HowtoReadSpamMailbox.asp#whitelist for instructions on adding an address to your address book. If you already have email addresses in your address book, those will remain in place and will automatically be added to the "white list".

How do I move emails from my SPAM folder to my Inbox?
If you wish to move emails from the SPAM Folder to your inbox, please follow this link: http://www.solidspace.com/SMB/Support/SMB_HowtoReadSpamMailbox.asp#moveemails for instructions on logging into the web interface and moving emails between folders.

The support team is very happy to be able to offer this email enhancement and we hope that you enjoy this new feature. We thank you for your continued support.

Thank you,
SolidSpace Support Team

Jan 12, 2006 - Attention SolidSpace Customers:   SolidSpace has upgraded our web statistics reporting tool from LiveStats 6.2.1 to LiveStats 8.03. The new version has many improvements and features. A complete list of the feature enhancements may be found at http://www.deepmetrix.com/livestats/xsp/key_features/ . There is no action needed on your part to begin using the new statistics . The next LiveStats report you receive will be from the new SolidSpace LiveStats server. If you are accustomed to logging into the web interface, the email you had received in the past with a link to statistics will still work for the old server. On Thursday, January 12, we will be sending users a new email with a link and credentials for the new server. The user name and password you have for the old statistics server is unchanged for the new server.

The new server will contain historical data dating back 60 days . Unfortunately there is no importing tool to move the old statistics data to the new server. Due to this, we will leave the old LiveStats server online through 12/31/06 so that clients may log into the old server via the web interface to view historical data.

SolidSpace is very excited to be able to offer you a newer, more robust web statistics reporting tool and we thank you for your continued support!

Best Regards,

SolidSpace Support Team

Aug 31, 2005 - This email is to inform you that on Friday, Sept 2nd at 10 PM EDT, SolidSpace will be performing an upgrade to our datacenter's switching and routing. We will be replacing several copper connections with higher speed fiber connections. We will also be upgrading our distribution layer switches to add increased throughput to accommodate future growth.

The maintenance window will be for approximately three hours. During the maintenance window, some servers may experience a brief service interruption as connectivity to that device is moved to the upgraded fiber and switching architecture. We do not anticipate more than fifteen (15) minutes of service interruption for any single server during the window. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your continued support.

Jul 18, 2005 - This email is to inform you of a SolidSpace policy change in regards to handling emails forwarded to AOL addresses. In the past, you have received email at your AOL address that had been forwarded from the SolidSpace email server. For example, your email with SolidSpace may be sales@widgets.com but email received on this address is being forwarded to an AOL address rather than residing on the SolidSpace email servers. This email is to advise you that SolidSpace will no longer forward those emails. Unfortunately AOL has left us with no choice. If a piece of spam is received by your sales@widgets.com address and forwarded to AOL, AOL ends up black listing the SolidSpace email servers even though we are not the source of the spam. Removing ourselves from the black list has proved to be nearly impossible and it has caused SolidSpace users to be denied the ability to email AOL users. Until such time that intelligence is built into the AOL black listing system which allows it to see the source of spam and not black list servers forwarding emails at the request of AOL users, SolidSpace will not be forwarding emails as it is causing the SolidSpace email servers to be unwarrantedly black listed.

Instead of being forwarded, your email will now reside on one the SolidSpace email servers. You may call us at 888-340-0020 option 2 for instructions on setting up your email client to retrieve email or follow this link: http://www.solidspace.com/SMB/Support/SMB_CustomerSupport.asp

May 25, 2005 - This email is to inform you of maintenance being performed on the SolidSpace datacenter Sunday, May 29th. Due to the growth of our customer base, SolidSpace must upgrade our power infrastructure. We will be performing upgrades to our uninterruptible power supply/battery back up as well as the various circuits that carry the power into the datacenter. Our power requirements have grown such that the existing circuit breakers and electrical wiring feeding power to our datacenter will not be capable of carrying the load once we have upgraded our uninterruptible power supply/battery back up and has made it necessary to install newer, heavier gauge electrical cabling and higher amperage circuit breakers. The datacenter power will be moved from the existing electrical cabling and circuit breakers to higher amperage circuit breakers and heavier electrical cabling. The cabling and breakers are being installed and placed before the cutover but we must go down briefly in order to complete the physical connections. Internet connectivity will remain active as well as DNS, email servers, and broadband access. Other services and servers will not be available during the cut over which will occur on Sunday May 29, at 4:30 AM EDT. We do not anticipate the power upgrade to take more than one hour to complete. Once complete all servers and services will be online and available. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this maintenance and thank you for your continued support.

May 23, 2005 - A new computer virus is being reported in the wild arrives via e-mail with an attachment that purports to be a Microsoft "cumulative patch" for May 2005. The file is actually an executable for a variant of W32.Pinfi, a memory-resident polymorphic virus capable of replicated via mapped drives and network shares. The Pinfi virus, also known as Pate or Parite, has been programmed to infect every PE and SCR file on every drive and network share. Pinfi targets users of Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Me.
Please be aware that Microsoft will never attach software updates to security e-mail notifications of any sort. If you receive an email purporting to contain any security patch from any software vendor, you should not open it and you should delete it immediately.

March 23, 2004 - ** VIRUS ADVISORY - W32/Netsky.p@MM **
Another variant of the W32/Netsky.MM virus, W32/Netsky.p@MM is a Medium Risk mass-mailing worm that arrives inside a .ZIP attachment (e.g., your_document.zip) and spreads itself by stealing email addresses from the infected computer, spoofing or forging the "from: field." Besides using its own SMTP engine, W32/Netsky.p@MM also propagates via peer-to-peer networks (e.g., Morpheus, Kazaa) by copying itself to shared file directories -- often with a celebrity (e.g., Britney Spears, Eminem) as part of the filename.

Note: W32/Netsky.p@MM takes advantage of vulnerable versions of Internet Explorer 5.01 and 5.5 to automatically execute the virus on a user's system. It is highly recommended that all users run Windows Update to ensure you have the latest patches for Internet Explorer.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR:

FROM: Varies (forged addresses taken from infected system).

SUBJECT: Varies. Examples --

- Stolen document
- Re:Hello
- Mail Delivery (failure sender address)

BODY: Varies. Examples --
- I found this document about you.

Mar 3, 2004 - Please be aware that there is a new mass-mailing worm that contains a .zip or .pif file and it attempts to create a backdoor into your network. The email from address is forged (spoofed) as to appear as though it is coming from one of the following senders on the recipient's domain:

management
administration
staff
noreply
support

The body of the message varies but it sent regarding your email account.

As always, it is a sound policy to not open file attachments unless you are expecting them. Always contact the sender to confirm the legitimacy of any unknown file attachment before you open it. Remember to keep your virus definitions up to date and to run a full system scans on a regular basis.
