SolidWaves Now Available As a WiFi Hot Spot in Downtown Winston Salem, NC

SolidSpace's wireless broadband service is now available to users in Downtown Winston Salem, NC as a pay for use service.


Winston Salem, NC July 9, 2007 -- SolidSpace, a long-time provider of hosting, network, and broadband services in the Triad, is continuing that tradition by offering its SolidWaves, wireless broadband service to users in downtown Winston Salem, NC. Visitors to Winston-Salem from across the country have already signed up for multiple days of service. Even residents of downtown Winston-Salem have signed up for the monthly service, as the cost rivals many wireless Internet services without requiring any equipment or installation.

SolidWaves was successfully launched in October of 2006 as a replacement for SolidSpace's antiquated DSL service. Originally targeted to business customers, the SolidWaves service was dependant upon an antenna mounted at the customer's premise. With the introduction of SolidWaves Hot Spot, the barrier of mounted antennas has been broken and wireless service has been extended directly to laptops and other wireless capable devices.

Wireless users searching for a signal within the downtown Winston-Salem area, now have a new option of hotspot.solidspace.com. When a user selects hotspot.solidspace.com from the available wireless connections, they are directed to a secure signup page that offers a variety of plans based on daily, weekly or monthly usage. In only a matter of minutes, wireless users can connect, sign-up for a plan and be connected to the Internet. The service is free from carrier sponsored advertising such as banners attached to the bottom of a user's browser, which is common among wireless providers offering this type of service.
