SolidSpace Sponsors Web Hosting Exhibit at SciWorks

SciWorks, The Science Center and Environmental Park of Forsyth County, will now feature an exhibit exploring web hosting. SolidSpace is sponsoring this exhibit by contributing exhibit materials and webhosting knowledge.


Winston-Salem, NC October 18, 2007 -- SolidSpace, a leading provider of dynamic web hosting infrastructure and developer of intuitive web-based collaborative technologies, announced today that its donation of an exhibit at SciWorks in an effort to show Forsyth county children the different career opportunities within the Information Technology (IT) industry sector. With this donation, SolidSpace and SciWorks hope to educate children about web hosting and to influence their opinion about the internal structure of an IT company.

SciWorks, located in Winston-Salem, NC, boasts 30,000 square feet of exhibits and a 15-acre environmental park. Since opening in 1964, they have been a popular destination for school fieldtrips and Saturday outings with the family. As the world of science continues to develop, so do the exhibits at SciWorks. Their newest addition entitled "TechWorks" educates visitors on a broad range of modern technologies, including medical, space travel and now, web hosting.

"The development of the TechWorks exhibit at SciWorks has exposed visitors to medical and scientific technology," said Dr. Beverly Sanford, executive director. "By adding an exhibit on web hosting it will diversify the exhibit's meaning of technology. We are already having a great response to the new addition."

With its sponsorship of SciWorks, SolidSpace hopes to offer a greater understanding of web hosting and how it plays a vital role in our daily lives.

The exhibit features web server and explains how it is an important part of a data center. Children and adults alike will walk away with a better understanding of how web hosting works.
