Donation to Goodwill Industries Takes 3 Truck Loads
As SolidSpace began planning the disposal of its outdated IT equipment, which had been pilling up over the last 5 years, we were faced with how to handle it in an efficient and environmentally friendly manner. With over 220 million tons of old computer equipment making it to landfills each year, SolidSpace wanted to cause as little harm to the environment as possible and hopefully put some of the functional equipment to good use.
With the help of Goodwill and Dell's collaborative computer recycling program, RECONNECT, SolidSpace was able to remove three truck loads of monitors, computer towers, laptops, servers, routers, and network switches that were no longer in use. The donated computer equipment is used for training tools in Goodwill's IT education courses or resold in their retail store to raise money for Goodwill.
This amazing program was easy to use and helped us do a little overdue spring cleaning.

Solidspace Employees Offered Telecommuting Benefit
In an effort to help employees fight rising gas cost, reduce its carbon foot print and decrease employee's commute time, SolidSpace has started a telecommuting program for its employees.
Employees will be scheduled to work from home one day per week. Extra measures in communication and equipment upgrades have been made so that clients contacting SolidSpace will not notice any difference whether an employee is working from home or in the office

After several months of moving, hammering, sawing and moving again, SolidSpace is finally settled into their newly renovated office space. Being located in the Piedmont Triad Research Parks' Victoria hall since 2000, SolidSpace felt the need to brighten its environment and reorganize the space to fit its growing business.
SolidSpace's data center has always been under close watch and key. As part of the renovations, SolidSpace took even greater measures to protect its data center with a new guest identification center in the lobby and a biometric entry system for the entire office.
These new measures ensure not only the safety of the data center but also our staff, allowing only authorized employees and guest access to highly sensitive areas.
If you are in the Piedmont Triad Area, we hope that you will stop by to tour our beautiful new office space.

To commemorate 5 years of exceptional service and to give our hard working employees a well desired pat on the back, SolidSpace held a company picnic at the Warthog's stadium. It was a great time for families and coworkers to relax and get to know one another better. Fun was had by all, with great food and a visit from Wally the warthog.
We reminisced about the history of SolidSpace and brainstormed about the future. Although Solidspace is only 5 years old, the SolidSpace experience and employee relationships started over 10 years ago when the company was owned by Netunlimited, Inc. and then Divine, Inc..
We take great pride in celebrating 5 years of positive revenue and employee growth and understand that this would not be possible without an innovative service line and unwavering client support. SolidSpace is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards for its employees and clients.

Each year the Winston-Salem Chamber of Commerce holds a trade show, giving its members the opportunity to showcase new products and services. This budget friendly event connects local businesses with new clients and facilitates new partnerships.
After 5 years of exhibiting at the expo, SolidSpace is still impressed at the events great turnout. Feeling spring fever coming on, SolidSpace took the chance to throw a Luau party to celebrate the release of its new Remote Monitoring Services. Complete with palm trees, tropical fruit and a grass skirt, we had a great time helping people with their IT problems and even managed to win the most creative booth award.
If you missed the Winston-Salem Business Expo this year, keep an eye out for it next spring. It is a free event to the public, offering information on local businesses including great food from local restaurants.

In an effort to be more environmentally friendly, SolidSpace has converted all its billing statements to a paperless billing system and has started ordering recycled and bio-degradable kitchenware for employee's use in the office.
With paper comprising about 38% of the world's garbage, more than double any other type of waste, recycling every little bit helps. What is your business doing to reduce its burden on the environment?
